Write for us

Bright Arts Review welcomes pitches from writers who can make a specific arts idea clear and engaging for curious general readers. We are interested in careful explanation, not specialist language for its own sake.

What to pitch

Propose a focused piece about how a creative work or form is made, structured, presented or encountered. A strong pitch identifies its central question, the reader’s takeaway, the kinds of examples it would use and why the subject fits our coverage. We welcome fresh angles and plainly stated interpretations.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a brief summary and a little about your relevant experience or perspective. Do not send a complete article unless we have requested one. We review pitches for fit, clarity and originality; a proposal is not a promise of publication.

Our point of view

Art makes choices visible

A closer look at form and material can change what a work gives us. We explain those choices in clear language, without prescribing a single response.
